HBA, Inc. (Harry Boblit Associates Inc.)

 About HBA, Inc.

Harry Boblit Associates was started by Mr. Harry Boblit Jr. in 1973 after his many years of service as 'Assistant to the Director of Appraisals' for the State of Ohio Department of Highway Transportation. Mr. Boblit made the most of his experience, aspiration, and talent when focusing his time on real property appraisal reports that ranged from single family residences to complex industrial properties involving many parcels including chains of restaurants and airport facilities.

Mr. Harry Boblit retired from the appraisal industry in the early 90’s but it was over a course of many years that Dana Vanderhorst would serve an apprenticeship under her fathers direction while upholding the managerial responsibilities including and not limited to accounting, processing of appraisal reports, and many other tasks that are associated with operating a small corporation. In 1993, Dana received her real estate license when it became law that all appraisers within the State of Ohio be licensed or certified before completing an appraisal for any federally related transaction.

Mrs. Vanderhorst has been in the appraisal industry for over 30 years.   This valuable knowledge and experience of real estate market in Sidney and all of West Central Ohio and the effect of a changing economy are important factors when considering the ‘fair market value’ of a property whether used as a selling tool or mortgage purposes such as refinancing or a purchase.

Dana enjoys her work and remains committed in providing well supported, unbiased, honest, and professional looking appraisals. She will never compromise her principles, integrity, nor give in to pressure to a ‘predetermined’ value.

Mrs. Vanderhorst welcomes new challenges.   We are a small appraisal firm, willing to listen and consider all information provided by public information, onsite inspection, and you, our client and/or home owner.  At the same time , we will always perform professionally; respect and follow the guidelines and code of ethics as directed by USPAP, FHA, and the State of Ohio, and remain well-informed of the current trends taking place in the real estate appraising industry.
